Hello. I am looking to install an up-flush toilet/sink combination in my basement, such as a Saniflo system. The directions mention how to run the waste line into the main sewer line, and I get that. However, they are very vague when it comes to describing how to VENT the system, which is required by code. Do I simply run a 2 inch pipe off the top of the macerating unit through the rim joist of the basement? Do I "tap" into the existing vent system from the 1st floor? What do I do??? Thank you!

If you have an available and accessible vent close by, tap into it.

i'd run a 1 1/2 inch vent. plenty big enough for the 1 inch discharge that pump has.

Thank you for the reply, but to where do I run the 1 1/2 inch vent tube that you mentioned? Is it as simple as just running a line that goes outside?

If there are any other vents nearby, you can tap into them to avoid another roof penetration, or you can go through the roof to the outside.
