Air in Water plus Leaking Side Sprayer
Author: mckelveyesquire (KY)

I replaced a 4-hole kitchen faucet that included an airgap connected to the diswasher with a new 4 hole faucet fixture (Fontaine) that removed the airgap. The contractor hooked the dishwasher overflow to our garbage disposal. Since the faucets were switched, we have constantly had water problems - perhaps because it is coming to the faucet too quickly and not able to get through the aerator quick enough, so we get that hiccup sound, and water drips constantly out of the side sprayer handle, we had the Fontaine manufacturer replace the side sprayer, but the same issue always occurs.

Did all of this happen because we lost the airgap on top of the sink?

I cannot get an o-ring into the sprayer handle to try and seal it, so not sure if it would be better to buy a universal sprayer and hose and replace to try and get the drip to stop?

Would it help to turn the hot and cold water pressure down slightly to slow the water coming to the faucet?

We are selling our house and just trying to do the practical thing.
