Slab leak - rerouted pipes. what to do next?
Author: bar (AZ)

So we had a slab leak in our hot water line. I was successfully able to reroute the piping. I am wondering if there is any other steps I should take with regard to killing or disinfecting any mold from the leaks underground. Should I pour bleach or vinegar into the now unused pipes?

There is no evidence of any water that we can see above ground.

To give more background, this had evidently happened before to the cold water line (before we bought the house). As that line had already been rerouted. Also at the time, an extra pex line was run in the attic for the hot water but never connected. I figure the previous owner was adopting a wait and see policy.

Thanks for your time.
