We were not getting heat in 1 zone , Circulator wasnt running , jumped out the B & G NRF 22 motor , and wont run.
noticed there is a capacitor in the elect box.
1 ) can the cap be the problem .. how do I test that without taking the cap out, or should I bench it .??
2 ) can we replace just the motor ....?
3 3 ) Does B & G have those parts if need be ?
Thanks
W.

Its usually less expensive to replace the entire assembly.
Is the motor drawing amperage ?

Shop around....there's deals out there. That's a lot of circ for a single zone.

They can be had for $40 or so less than Amazon. They only pump 15', so they aren't a strong circulator.
I used to use lots of NRF-22's, but the quality dropped off quite a bit when they started being made in China. I now use Grundfos circulators, much better quality @ about the same price.

How are the Taco 007's these days?

007's used to be my favorite. i now like the 3 speed grundfos better.
both are making the new digital circulator that uses less power.

packy...with Mass's rebates you can get a DT circ for the same price as a 007.The 007 is about 10' of head, and will pump most zones, other than monoflow.

i'm having trouble right now with a job (not installed by me) that has grundfos digital circulators. one zone has 2 kickspace heaters with 3/4 x 1/2 scoop tees.
one heater has 2 scoop tees and it heats but the other only has one scoop tee and doesn't heat.
the readout on the circulator says 2 GPM. i kicked it up to its highest setting to get that.

Are they off a series loop of baseboard packy?

yes they are. the installer used 5/8 uponor to feed the loop.
it is curious that the kickspace with two scoop tees heats while the kickspace with one scoop tee does not ???

That little flow kills the output of everything, even the baseboards. Not that there's that much difference, but you need all you can get with baseboard. Are the scoop tees the only reason for the little flow, or is the circ undersized?

paul, it is a home which had an existing heating system. the home was half gutted but half was left intact. new windows all around but some baseboard heaters were left.
it has 7 zones plus one for DHW.
all zones are not really long except the one that has problems.
my inclination is to haul out the grundfos digital circulator and replace with a grundfos 3 speed set on hi..
there are isolation valves above and below so it is about a 10 minute job.
by the way, this house sits oceanfront right on good harbor beach in gloucester.

BTW, the rep for the mod/con boiler came out to assist in some venting issues. he recommends not drawing combustion air from outside because of the salt air at an ocean front home.

Check the curve against that 2 gpm you're getting, just to make sure there's not something funky going on. In other words, does that 2 gpm translate into a ridiculous amount of head. I've tried to read the old documents for determining head on monoflow systems, and it doesn't sink in. I hate seeing a mod/con zoned like that. It probably short cycles, and never condenses. The salt air does a number on things. I lost half the electrical service to the house, years ago. One of the prongs for the meter was corroded from the salt air. Check out the Taco VT 2218, I think with the rebate up there it's less than a 007.
