Change Faucet Handle from CCW to CW
Author: J_Espo (NJ)

I am currently installing a two handle (lever) faucet into my bathroom, as i was putting the handles on last night i noticed that both the HW ans CW turn in the CCW direction. This poses a problem for the CW (right side of sink) because to turn on the flow of water I have to "push" or turn the handle CCW away from the sink.

The HW turns fine, toward the sink basin. Is there any way to change the direction of the CW to allow me to turn it on by turning CW toward the sink basin? I know there has to be.

? brand ?

? instruction sheet ?

! maybe you actually have a 'used' unit with 2 HW spindles/cartridges installed !

call the manufacturer

or

install old fashioned cross handles (which always turn CCW for open)

As bernabeu has stated above, you have used a faucet that was designed for round or cross handles, but some faucets can be adjusted, or the cartridge/stem replaced for proper function with lever handles, but we need to know the brand and make of the faucet to really advise you further.

The easiest thing to do would be to contact Moen, and they can send you a cartridge to replace the existing one.

You have two red handle extensions. You need a blue one #97478 for the cold side.

Maybe this will apply to your situation. This cartridge has a retaining clip that can be removed to allow the silver piece of metal to turn or rotate .. which changes the turning direction from/to CCW to CW. Both of my cartridges came as 'hot water' so I changed one to be the cold water tap.

Doesn't work like that for Moen.

knob handles use the same stems or cartridges. Levers, use opposite stems and cartridges.

quote; knob handles use the same stems or cartridges

That used to be true. Now, many of the "specialty" companies send out bodies with lever stems regardless of which kind of handle you use.

It may be a "rough in body" that you buy the handles and hubs separately.
