My family and I moved into a house a few years ago. The previous owner installed a rain shower fixture in addition to a standard shower head at the front of the stall. A single shower faucet controls both shower heads without the ability to turn off the rain shower head (which we don't care for). Having both on also empties the hot water heater in no time and we just use the other bathroom. But, we have house guests coming and will need both showers.
The rain shower head is connected to pex pipes that run through the attic. In short, not easy to remove. Can I just remove the shower head and cap it or am I going to have to remove all of the plumbing for it?
Thanks for any suggestions!

That is fine, especially since the other head will still work to prevent complications.
