Can anyone help me with this connector. I have no idea how it comes off and I can't find a spout that will connect to it. It is around 25 years old. I have never seen one like this and I don't want to start messing with it and cause a bigger problem. I have attached a picture that hopefully will help with the answer.
I have never seen a connector like this before and don't know how to remove it to put a new spout connector and spout on. It is about 25 years old and I don't want to mess with it and cause more issues. If anyone can help I would appreciate it greatly.

That's a Delta spout adapter. It's either soldered to a copper pipe stub or screwed on to a male thread coming out of the wall. If it's soldered, you should see the soldered joint on the exposed end of the adapter. Either get another Delta spout and retain the adapter or remove the adapter and do whatever is necessary to mount the new spout to whatever is coming out from the wall.

It is a Delta spout adapter. The only thing I would do with it is buy a new Delta spout (1-800-345-DELT), and screw it on.
