I have a question, in my bathroom I have a one handle faucet that says mainline. When i turn it to cold the water comes out finw, when i turn to hot it barley drips out. Someone told me to change the cartridge inside the facuet. However, Ive only read that being done for a moen faucet. Any suggestions on what could be the problem or solution?

I don't know who makes Mainline or what their valve looks like. It has a pressure balancing spool inside "somewhere", either as part of the cartridge, beneath the cartridge, or screwed into an opening on the valve body.

After seeing the parts breakdown, you may have two possibilities for the problem. It appears that the balancing spool is in the cartridge, but that valve may also have "check stops" on either side and one of those could be stuck, or sticking.
