 Toilet bubbling
Author: KsheaT22 (FL)

I was washing clothes today and my guest bath started bubbling. The tonight I was taking a shower in the master bath and the master toilet started bubbling. Our toilet would then not flush. We used draino and about 30 minutes later it would flush again.

We are on city sewer lines, our house is old built in 1979!
Could this be a serious problem? Or just a simple clog? I'm concerned because neither bathroom is close to each other. And the washer is in the garage, also not close to any bathroom.

Please help!!!

THANK YOU!!!

You have the telltale characteristics of a main sewer line blockage. Call a licensed plumber or professional drain cleaning service to assess the problem on site. Make sure the company is licensed and insured, and that they guarantee their work. If you have a bunch of roots in the drain, and they suggest sending a camera down, I would probably take their advice.

A "simple clog" and a "serious problem" could be the same thing, depending on what is causing it and where it is. But, that is what you have.
