I have holes in a green pipe installed less than a year ago. Does anyone have any insight what would cause these large holes

Soil samples. Test for acidity.

In my opinion, that pipe is the WORST thing that can be used for gas lines, even though it is an "approved" material. It is basically black steel pipe with paint on it. ANYTHING that damages the coating during installation or afterwards creates a rust point. Even galvanized pipe with a tape wrapped cover would be superior to that stuff.

That is a LOT of corrosion for one year. What was the pipe material? Disregard, hj answered my question.

I it green "epoxy" coated black pipe called "Skotch Kote", and is an "approved" material for underground gas lines. In damp areas it can become Swiss cheese in less than a year.
