what the reason why my sink won't drain , it is not clogged ,snake has been ran through ,
the water will not run out why what could be causing it not to run out

Nancy, by your estimation, there is no clog. However, you do have a clog. A sewer camera would make it much easier to prove it and I don't think your efforts to clear the line... was enough. Just how old is this area that appears clog free?

You DO have a clog, but your 'snake' is either too small or too short or not in the right location to clear it. YOu may have to call a plumber with better equipment to open the line.

You could have a venting problem, but it is more likely that you have a blockage as the previous 2 respondents have stated.

"A venting problem" only prevents drainage if there is ALSO a clogged drain problem.
