I am getting close to installing my Kohler K305 diverter push button shower/tub valve. I am installing in a shower only. I need some expert advise here. I would like to use both a typical wall mount shower head and an ceiling mount rain head. Would this application work if I hooked the rain head up to the "tub" outlet of the valve and the shower head up to the "shower" outlet?
One other option that I have is purchasing a Kohler 45212 Hydrorail system that has an integrated diverter. If I were to go this route and use just one side of the valve and hooked it up to the "tub" side only would I gain more volume and pressure since the port is not internally restricted?
Thanks for your time and help.

No, it won't work properly to plumb it like that. You need a separate diverter to switch between the wall shower, overhead shower, or both at the same time.

option one would give you water from both out ports.
option two would work much better. you would turn the valve upside down and plug the unused port. also you will need to remove and rotate the cartridge to compensate for turning the body upsidedown.
