GE Power vent smart water heater error codes?
Author: kev (WI)

I have a power vent 50 gallon GE smart water heater model GP50T6PF00 i noticed my water was not as hot as usual this morning i checked the water heater the light just blinks non stop i unplugged it and plugged it back in still nothing i turned up the heat dial i heard a humming come from the blower assembly for like 10 seconds then it stopped then a few seconds later it started humming again so i unplugged it again this time for like 10 minutes then plugged it back in this time the blower assembly slowly started spinning finally got up to speed but for some reason the light was still blinking non stop i've noticed for awhile now that the blower assembly sometimes makes a weird like whirring sound but has always started up until today my question is does it sound like the problem is the blower assembly and would the light blink non stop because the blower assembly is not working like it suppose to?i checked all over the web looking at error codes and couldnt find one that says constantly blinking so im not for sure if that means bad blower assembly or if it means something else?So far its been working today sence i shut it off for 10 minutes and plugged it back in but i have a feeling its just a matter of time before it happens again.Thank you in advance for any help on this issue.

Have you considered calling GE directly for their advice on their product?

Usually, the blink pattern of the diagnostic light tells you what the code is.

to page 30 of Paul's link. A slow constant even blinking is normal when the unit is on and not heating. A steady fast and even blinking is normal when the heater is in heating mode.
