The spigot for my icemaker box is leaking when on. Can I just turn the water off at the main, unscrew this spigot and put another 1/2 mip onto the pipe? I've included a picture or I tried to put a link to the picture below.
Thanks for any advice.

sure can. either that or just repack around the stem.
i just took a closer look at the valve and i'm not sure you can unscrew it fro a female fitting below. i can't tell how it is connected. better not try to unscrew it.
do try to tighten the packing nut as suggested. use 2 wrenches. one as a hold back.

You will still have some residual waters in the lines. Turn off the water to the heater as well, to be safe. Considering its age, I'd change it too. A lever handle, 1/4 turn.
Best Wishes

I would start with tightening the packing nut a quarter to half turn first before messing with repacking or changing the valve out.
