Found water bubbling up from the ground in the front of the house near the well. Calling a plumber tomorrow but in the mean time should I shut off the water? If I do, will I get dirt and mud into the pipes and water system? Was planning to turn on only for a showers ect.

You can shut it off if you like, but most well systems are set up in such a way that the leak will only occur when the pump is running so just minimizing water usage will minimize the leakage.

If the pump is cycling a lot, then shut it down so you don't cause undue damage to the pump or run your well dry. If it isn't running a lot more than normal then I would let it stay on, but be aware that you could have contaminants in the drinking water. Make sure you mark where you found the leak in case the entire area becomes a swamp.
