I am presently facing a crisis regarding the replacement of my 2004 Delta RP32540 hand shower that is used on my 1983 model 642 tub/shower valve. As all the current Delta hand showers are currently imported from China, thus is the reason why I'm still holding on to the one I've got at present until they bring production of these back to the States.
In the meantime, what would any of you do to fix the hairline crack around the body of the hand shower component? I am throwing around the suggestion of using J.B. Weld.
Also, should I really buy an older Delta hand shower (provided it is in good condition)? As the bath valve I have is an '83 as earlier described, I would prefer to buy an RP3896 hand shower to go with it.
Thank you,
Ben

Does the current hand shower have a higher flow rate or something that makes it different?
