Intro: Service Plumber & Remodel Plumbing work, investigating whether or not to start adding new construction finish/trim plumbing for local builders.

I was doing a site estimate for new construction and ran across this connection. My supply house doesn't have this one. Anyone seen this? The whole house was plumbed w/ CPVC except at shower/tub valves you had this connection to copper.

They are Sioux Chief copper x cpvc stub outs. The company I work for buys thousands of them a year

"New construction finish/trim"? Why aren't the installing contractors doing it themselves?

You can make the assembly yourself and then transition with a SharkBite.

I would suggest to the general contractor in charge that next time they use pex instead of cpvc simply for faster and more durable installations. CPVC is slower, can have errors in installation that don't appear for a few (or more) days and can shatter or crack if subjected to sudden impact. (think of the three stooges and a ladder) The overall cost of a pex install should be equivalent or cheaper than a CPVC install.

Three stooges and a ladder? Worse yet is three stooges doing the plumbing!

YEP, copper to CPVC adaptor. Mostly used when water temperature is high or connecting to existing copper. These are used for instance when coming out of the top of your water heater for a short distance to avoid the higher temps to the CPVC. They also make water hammer arrestors that go CPVC to copper. You'll see these usually in wall behind fixtures.
