I have observed and documented entire residential single family multi family attached detached stacked as well as side by side lots and units without a single piece of pipe being copper or cast iron. All plastic. This is how it is being done in SoCal. The alternate realities of past codes and engineered designs are now left to cost and the designer's of record preference.
