hello I have an issue with my basement toilet , when flushed it drains as "normal" the fills , after a short moment (45sec) the bowl water drains slowly leaving enough just to cover the holes.
in the process of trying to find a solution I have put a working replacement toilet in its place
( so not a cracked china ).
when i was replacing the toilet I saw there was water in the drain , I ran a 50' snake down the line and it cleared up ( might not have fully cleared up)
am not have any other issues with anything else in the house , the other toilet , sinks ,tub dishwasher all seem fine.
am still leaning towards a blockage in the drain .
couldn't tell with the water-saver toilet on , but with full flush style toilet the water comes almost to the top of the bowl before it drains.
am hoping some one has an idea ? hoping its not a vent pipe issue. don't think it is , cause its the only spot in the house with issues.
i thank you if can help me .

It could be any of several issues, included a problem with a vent, but we cannot tell which one without being there to do some testing.

I`ve had this same problem last week at a customer`s house. The toilet was doing similar to what yours was doing. The customer told me "That the toilet would flush sometimes, but sometimes it wouldn`t!"So I further investigated it, she was right it.It flushed all the way the first time, but I tried it 2 more to times after that it would fill up to where it would almost overfill. After I turned off the water, the water would slowly drain until it reached the bottom of the toilet. Both the tub and vanity had no problems at all draining.I pulled the toilet, ran 75ft of 5/ 8 cable through a 3 " drainline ,No stoppages at all..But the cable stayed wet each time I pulled it out.I ran a camera through the line, sure enough between the toilet and main drain line had a sag in it.I would have someone pull the toilet, and run a camera through your toilet line just to see what`s going on.It`s probably a sagged line somewhere.
