Dear community
I bought an Hansgrohe Metris S faucet in Germany and I am now trying to fit it to a US angle stop, which obviously does not fit by default.
Here is the faucet description (document says inlet is female G 3/8):

Can anyone help?
Thanks a lot
Fabrizio

I just read that "G" thread is the same as BSPP thread. Adapters are available.

IF it were a standard 3/8" compression connection, it should fit right on to the angle stop, but he is indicating that it does NOT fit.

Thanks everybody for the prompt answers. I will check with my contractor what's wrong with the female 3/8th inlet. I was also expecting it to fit directly onto the angle stop.
Unfortunately I am not home right now so I cannot verify directly.
I'll keep you posted.
Thasks again,
Fabrizio

if it is too large then it might fit onto a 3/8 chrome/brass nipple.
in that case you will need to go to a plumbing store and cobble a few fittings together.

Consider getting metric to english adapter. Hard to find maybe just go and buy kohler, delta, pfister etc

More likely to fit a 1/4" nipple if it is a pipe thread, which is not likely.

Thanks steve,
This is promising, what I need now is a 3/8 bsp male to 3/8 npt female adaptor.
That way i should be able to connect my faucet to any standard 3/8 angle stop.
Can you confirm if i got it right?
Thanks again

i just had a thought.
if you bought the faucet in germany, it may not comply with the USA no-lead laws.
if that is the case, you are subject to a huge fine and the sun will not rise next wednesday.
good grief, we are doomed..

Wednesday morning sunrises are overrated. I would be more concerned with finding repair parts in the U.S. if something goes wrong with it.

The "G" thread is also known as BSPP ~ a British metric thread ~ used primarily for vacuum connections
good luck finding a BRASS adapter
see available adapters: [www.anver.com]
you may need to change your angle stop to one with a a 3/8" (F)NPT outlet
Buy a new US faucet, it will be cheaper in the long run!
? parts down the road ? for a foreign threaded $300 faucet ?

Thanks
I believe I found the right adapter:
Male BSPP x Female NPTF
High-pressure carbon steel with anti-corrosive plating.
Anything wrong with the material?
Cheers

If it doesn't comply with the no-lead laws, then he doesn't have a problem because he, and ll his neighbors will be dead in a couple of days because of lead poisoning, and not the kind that coms out of a Glock.

Thanks packy, found the same adaptor in ss as well (though pretty expensive).
A second choice would be to substitute the whole inlet pipe with a us one. I see this is sold separarely as a spare part. Need to figure out how complicated it would be to do the swap.
Finally I called hansgrohe and ordered an adaptor they have in their inventory.
Thanks everybody for their help!

I had this same issue with a European faucet I bought online. Yes, I knew it would have metric fittings; however, I didn't realize it would be impossible to secure adapters through my local normally well-stocked plumbing supply store. The guys behind the counter suggested sending it back to Germany, and then ordering the proper faucet through them. The only problem was that although they stocked faucets from this manufacturer, they didn't stock this particular model. After an exhaustive online search, I found stainless steel adapters.

Hi,
we have the same issue. The measurements for the flexible metal hose G 3/8 are not matching with the 3/8 connections in the USA.
We contacted Hansgrohe via email and the answer we got is not clear.
This ist the answer: "The adapter that you will need to purchase is the 88802000. You will need to purchase it from any local dealer or online vendor."
We couldn't find anything with 88802000 on their website or on the internet.
Can you please let us know, what you exactly ordered at Hansgrohe so we can order it, too?
I need the information ASAP.
Thank you
Maryam
