I have a contractor putting in a new tile shower in my back bathroom. He installed a single handled valve for the shower and since, I have had an issue with getting hot water in the rest of the house, could the shower valve be installed improperly or have an internal issue that can cause this issue? It makes since to me that this may be the case because of my past hydraulic experience, but this IS plumbing and I have found that there are differences and I do not want to assume..... I completely trust the contractor, but he I am unable to contact him for the next day or two to ask him about it and just thought that I would put the question out there.
Thank You!!

yes .. you may have a 'crossover' through the 'pressure balanced' temperature limiting 'spool' inside the shower valve's body
valve it off to see for sure

He probably installed a Delta shower body, but did not install the cartridge OR the "crossover prevention plug" inside the body. If he does either of these the problem will go away.

Problem is fixed and it was the valve, contractor states that he had forgot to put in the cartridge in his haste to get done on the day that he installed the valve body.
