Writing about an Archer K1946 acrylic tub installation. After installing in a bed of mortar we never noticed until the following day that the apron on the right side is bowing outwards 1/4". The bow is about 6 inches long. When looking under the tub from a hole in the wall by the drain, the apron came loose from the brace. This is a do it yourself job performed by a relative. He said he put mortar under the brace. We have tried removing the bow by pushing the apron on the right side but it will not budge. I'm not sure if it is because the mortar is in the way at the opposite end of the bow or some other problem. I don't know if we have to remove the tub and start over...can you remove it without damaging it? The tub was set directly into the mortar. Or, can I leave the bow in and work around it with caulk and the tiling? Any help would help! Thanks

a quarter inch is quite noticeable. I would remove the tub and do it again. This time when you glue the apron to the brace, clamp it or position it so that you can put weight on it and apply pressure uniformly while the glue cures.

Can the tub be removed without damaging it?

i would not remove for fear of damaging it.
one thing about acrylic is that the finish goes right thru the material. it is not just a sprayed on finish.
you may be able to lightly sand and buff the area and get it back closer to straight.
done carefully, a repair to acrylic is brought 100% back to factory finish.
(of course you would need sufficient wall thickness to sand away some material but i would think 1/8 to 3/16 of an inch would not be removing too much given that the back side is secured in mortar)
