I just bought my house and had the water turned on. The house has two bathrooms, in the first bathroom everything works except the shower/tub. No water comes out of the faucet or shower head. The sink and toilet work fine. In the master bath the stand alone shower has no water coming out of it. The sink and jacuzzi tub work fine. All of this was working when I had my home inspection. Any ideas on what the problem could be.The plumbing was completely winterized before I moved in.

It could be a stuck balancing spool inside the faucet itself. There may be individual shutoff valves to the faucet that need to be turned back on.

Or there could be shutoffs to the showers down in the basement. If you have a drop ceiling, get a ladder and flashlight and take a peek, otherwise take the trim plates off the showers and look for integral stops.

A stuck spool will only shut off ONE water supply, not both. IF the hot water is shut off, then the valve will not turn on either the hot or cold water. Someone would have to actually at the house to do an examination, to determine what could have happened between the time of the inspection and when you moved in.
