I was having trouble with the toilet in our bathroom , always have . It never flushed right you had to dump about a quart of water in to make it flush . Today I installed a new power flush toilet , works great . Now the toilet in the other bathroom won't flush . It is acting just like the other one did . The new toilet is a god bit taller than the old one , could that make a difference . The toilets are actually back to back through the wall . Any ideas ?

Lets start with the brands and model of toilets you have and their Gallon Per Flush. How old were your toilets when they failed to flush. It could be the toilet or it could be the waste line. Also we don't know exactly what you tried to do to repair your old toilets.
The higher toilets use less water, but the higher units create more gravity of tank waters.

quote; the higher units create more gravity of tank waters.
Well, gravity gets weaker the further it is from the center of the Earth, but I doubt that 2 inches would make a difference anyway. The force from the tank is created by the water level in the tank, not the height of the tank above the floor. As to the original question, there are so many possible causes, usually cured by adjustments, that we would have to check the toilet to see what is happening.
