Hi,
I have a gas shutoff valve in my kitchen for my stove. I use a electronic stove and therefore I do not use the gas line. The shutoff valve does not have a cap on it, and I need help locating the correct cap.
I am not very familiar with plumbing fitting sizes, and always seem to get it wrong. The largest Flare Cap my Home Depot has is 1/2", and it is too small. I bought a 3/4" OD Flare Cap online, and it is too large.
I am hoping that someone can look at this picture and tell me what the correct size that I need to buy is. Thanks in advance for any assistance!

can't tell anything from that picture. but, if 1/2" is too small and 3/4" is too big, only thing left is 5/8"...

It is probably a flare valve so there is no adapter to remove. Stoves typically have a 5/8" flare connection.

Yes, looks exactly like that except for the angle pattern. Thanks for the replies.

As suggested, I am going to try a 5/8" fitting. But just for my education, I was hoping that the markings on the picture where it says "91" on one end and "11" on another end would have some significance, do these not mean anything? Thanks.

They probably do to an Italian, since that is where it is made. If you knew the manufacturer, which might be on a handle tag, then accessing their catalog might show the model and size, but that might be a lot of needless work.
