Are you referring to a cross connection in the piping? What is going on?

cold water comes into house. cold water has a shut off at the water heater and exits as hot
If somehow the hot and cold got reversed at the undersink water angle stops behind the wall just reverse the water supplies to the faucets If it is an shower issue with a SINGLE control handle this can be reversed by rotating the handle and reinstalling
Hope this helps

How many fixtures are crossed? It is very difficult if you cannot follow the lines because that often means the problem is inside a wall somewhere and you may have to locate EVERY place the two lines are adjacent to each other.
