No hot water in the washing machine line
Author: p_uday_in (TX)

Hi, I am not getting any hot water in the hot water supply line for the washing machine. Cold water line works just fine. And there's hot water everywhere else in the house. I tried opening and closing the valve but that didn't really help. I've had this problem ever since I bought the place sometime ago. When I bought this place, I had the flooring changed. I also had them install new valves because the existing ones were starting to leak. Not sure if the contractor turned off the water supply somewhere else for it.

Any suggestions on what/where I might check? Thanks!

Remove the hose from the wall valve and see if there is water available from the valve. Some washing machine hoses have a combination screen/washer and I seen the screen get gunked up(hot side only) with a slimy goo that would severely restrict the water flow.

"No hot water" is an ambiguous statement. Do you mean there is not water of any temperature, or that the water flows but does not get hot?
