Weird thing I noticed. Extremely windy day. I was doing some work next to the cast iron lateral in my basement.... When the wind was blowing I could hear dripping in the piping, mostly where the vent 90's to the horizontal portion.
Would wind cause this or was it a coincidence? FWIW, no drains in the house were being used at the time I observed this.

Wind blowing a bit of water that was trapped in the piping somewhere. Could have possibly been from a toilet bowl, sometimes strong wind will really get the water to moving around in a toilet bowl and cause some to go down the drain pipe.

I wonder how you would hear a drip in a cast iron pipe anyway. That is usually the reason to use it, so you could NOT hear water sounds in the pipe.
