Hello, I have a Titan water heater. Hot water works fine everywhere else except one bathroom. If i turn on the hot water in the shower, it will stay hot for about a minute and go back to cold and stay cold.
However, if I turn on the hot water in the bathroom sink, the shower will stay hot as long as the sink is on.
I dont think its the heater because it does heat the water. Any ideas? Please help.

It sounds like a bad cartridge in the shower to me. What brand of shower valve is it?

With the shower valve on hot, but cold water coming out of the showerhead, check the outlet pipe of the water heater and see if it's hot.

Close the stops under the sink, then try the shower.

I'd say that the shower head is too restrictive and not allowing the heater to fire. Remove the shower head and try it.

YOu are describing the classic case of a recirculation system with a bad check valve. When you open the sink faucet, there is enough draw to force the hot water to travel in the correct direction so it gets hot in the shower.
