 Temporary Septic System/Tank??
Author: rsponem1 (WI)

Hi, me and my fiance are buying a foreclosed house and its septic tank has been condemned. To set up a mound system (which is likely going to be the new set up), I was told takes about a month for the soil analysis and about a week to install. My problem is that we need to move in very soon due to our lease being up at our current residence. Is there any temporary septic tanks or any sort of solution where we could reside in our new home before having the new septic tank installed? Thank You for any ideas/advice!

You can rent a port-a-john. That would be about the least expensive thing you could do.

If the septic tank is still in the ground and can receive waste water, you could go ahead and use the house plumbing and let the tank receive it, and then just have it pumped out as needed.

Good Luck on your recent purchase. You will definitely need it as you go over all of the defects and issues.
A Port A John, portable toilet is the fastest and safest way to go before you move in. Using a condemned septic system could land you in trouble and possible fines, in Wisconsin. I hope you have a licensed plumber that you are, or will be using.

In most, if not all, areas, plumbers do NOT install septic systems. That is a specialty trade.

What I meant was, the septic system would be resolved, but hoping a licensed plumber would be considered for other issues relevant to a repo'd house that has been sitting idle for some time and its effects on the entire plumbing system.
