moving a 3 inch ABS sewer line so the top of the pipe is flush with the dirt in the under floor crawl area so the home owner does not step over it for storage Should I use a no hub or fernco for connecting the new section of pipe?
THANKS

No hub always trumps a fernco when there is a choice.

a no hub always trumps a fernco? I thought the exact opposite because the fernco has thicker rubber seems heavier duty still has ss clamps and above all about 3 times the price of a no hub?

The rubber may be thicker, but they can distort, allow the pipes to flex at the coupling, and aren't approved for underground use in some locations.
To me they are more of a handyman item.
When I rough a bath out of cast iron I feel confident with no hub connections, not true for ferncos.

All shielded couplings I've seen, have SS bands and clamps.

Ok makes sense the ferenco couplings I was referring to have stainless steel clamps but are not shielded only clamps at both ends but were not banded so the no hub with ss banding makes sense
That I will use and makes sense that the latter are more stable
