I was fixing my leaky kitchen faucet so I turned off the hot and cold water. Fixed the leak, turned on the faucet and the cold water is fine, but the flow stops completely when I turn the handle to the hot side. I forgot to mention its a single handle faucet. I have hot water in the bathrooms. Any ideas or fixes?! Thank you
P.S. I am an absolute novice

Its likely debris causing the problem, likely right at the valve where you turned the hot water off. If you can take the supply line loose right there you might be able to remove the blockage.

Your stop valve under the sink may be at fault. Disconnect the hot faucet supply and then open the valve and see if you have water. If not, replace the valve.
