I am trying to find out the manufacturer of the hot and cold valves in my shower. I need to refurbish them but I cannot find any marking on the handles or the units. The house was built in 1967. The following Photobucket link has three photo of the handles and units, so if anyone can figure out the manufacturer I would greatly appreciate it.

The handle looks like Sterling, but you'll probably need to pull a stem for positive id.

PRice Pfister "Marquis". Home Depot and many other sources have "rebuild kits" for it with new handles and chrome parts.

I don't believe it's a Kohler faucet and agree with hj.

Thanks for responses. Now there is a chrome part under the handles that I do not know how to remove. Do I need to get a handle puller to take off the chrome part of the handle in order to get to the stem?

That is one way, but if you get the rebuild kit, it will have new stems so you can just break it off by bending it back and forth.

This is one case you can "go all in" and will win the pot.

The puller worked and it is a Price Pfister. The old stem unit I think is the original or at least 20 years old. Went and got two new Danco 12H-1H/C replacement units for Price Pfister put them in and now have to decide what kind of handles I am going to re-install. Just wanted to Thank everyone for all the great information. You guys are spot on and very helpful. I will give this site information to my friends that need great information when it comes to plumbing. Keep up the great work....Awesome!!!!!!
Thanks Again Tom

Now that you have it repaired, I can tell you that if I had been doing it, I would NEVER repair it with 'compression" stems and washers. When I repair them I upgrade them to a "lifetime" status, but it is not something I would advise a DIYer to attempt since they could end up replacing the entire faucet.
