I purchased a Ridgid Kwik-Spin Snake @ HD for $30. Solved the problem! However it took me a TON of revolutions to pull it back in. I was turning, turning, and turning forever just to get the slightest of progess. It seemed to go forward much quicker/easier.
As per the instructions I had the trigger depressed (and locked in) the entire time.
Am I doing something wrong or is this normal? The amount of revolutions just to make 1 in of progress was pretty ridiculous. I can't imagine it was designed to work like that.
Thanks,
J

Now you know why I never use a "power feed" snake. I can pull it out faster by hand than the machine can.

No doubt about that. Do these power feeders still have some worth? It seemed to be more effective than my hand held once I reached the clog. I cranked it and it fought right through and pulled out the mess. I didn't have that kind of success with basic, non power feeder snake.

Did it autofeed when u were going forward?
Can't you just push the cable back into the drum by hand?
Don't they have a lifetime warranty?

Yes it did autofeed well going forward, and in retrospect pulling it by hand to retract it would've saved me a lot of time and effort. In their instructional video they showed the guy winding it back in, so I thought that was the way to go. Not! Unless mine is defective but I doubt it is. The machine looks like it's doing its job, you just need many, may revoluations to get the thing to come in 1 inch.
