how to add a additonal well pressure tank
Author: dogwood (NV)

would someone be kind enough to tell/show me how to add a additional pressure tank to my well?
I have a jet pump, a 40-60 switch, and a 34 gal bladder tank, useable probley about 20 gallons. I want to add an additional 34 gal or larger tank but I have been told there is a certain way to connect the new tank to the line that goes to the house. I tried this once before and found the second tank was not putting water in the line. I had it connected where the tank #1 was in a straight line to the in house waterline and the added tank was done like a L'' with the long arm of the L connected to the mainline which I cut the pvc and added a T.
I almost need a drawn picture or a web site where I can see it clearly. thanks so much

YOU put a T in the line out of the existing tank and connect the new one to the T.

It can 'float' on the line anywhere after the pump discharge. It may or may not need a check valve but we don't know your application.

The air pressure has to be set the same as the tank with the pressure switch on it. You do that prior to installation.
