 French drain overflowing
Author: ismet Hussain (NJ)

I have noticed that the brick wall in our unfiinshed basement recently has been getting wet and the water goes into the french drain. The water from the french drain is overflowing from only one area and creating pools of water on the floor. This has started recently and only happens when we have heavy rain. My concern is:
(1) Is this normal for the brick wall to get wet?
(2) Does it damage the foundation of the house?
(3) How do I clean the french drain if it is clogged?
(4) Dont know where the drains in the french drain are located?
(5) Who can I call for a free estimate if any work needs to be done?
Thanks

Much depends on just how much water and rain are you talking about... in the last 30 days.
Free estimates would be based on what can be seen, not what is hidden below ground and covered.

Something a new french drain is dug, after the old french drain has been removed. Some of your questions can not be answered until you know exactly, the issues. Please let us all know what happens. Are your neighbors having the same issues?

Best Wishes
