My 65 yr old sewer drain line is damaged and continues to clog. Can I purchase a jet hose and
connect it to my 2700psi pressure washer and get the same results as the plumber with his
$4000.00 jetting machine. Please advise also what diameter jet hose I'll need. The distance
from house to septic tank is approx 50 ft. Also: Any other suggestions for cleaning this
4" line.

I can't image a plumber purchasing a $4,000. machine if he/she could get "the same results" from a lower priced product and so I guess my answer would be "no."

"DAMAGED" doesn't begin to tell us what is wrong with your drain line. Damage, could mean cracked, root damaged, caved in, bellied or uneven. Could you provide pictures or a better description of your line issue
Best Wishes

THere are many differences between the $4,000.00 machine and your power washer, otherwise we would not need the $4,000.00 machine. The size of the hose is completely irrelevant. The pressure, gpm flow rate and the nozzles used determines whether it will be effective. Jetters are not especially effective against roots unless you have a very high pressure. For $4,000.00 you could put in a new sewer line to the septic. A "proper one" that roots cannot get into.
