Does anyone know if the galvanized pipe that Home Depot or Lowes sells has an AGA rating? Would this be marked on the pipe? Should I worry about buying pipe and fittings from Lowes or Home Depot verses a plumbing supply? Ths will be 1" and carry NG.

It needs to be rated as Schedule 40, minimum.

I don't think it has an AGA rating, but does have an Astm a-123 . It may be just me, but it seems like a lot of the plumbing related items the home improvement stores sell is of a lower quality. When running LP or NG I want the best quality items available so I drive past those stores to a plumbing supply store.

WHen it comes to black/galvanized steel pipe, the difference is in the way it is made, even though they all have the same "ratings". Some import pipe is very "hard" so it takes more care when threading it to avoid the thread from tearing.
