 Sewage Ejector/Lift Station
Author: Teecha14 (MN)

14 years in house with sewage ejector/lift station in basement. Last year installed sump PUMP to pre-existing basin.
Sewage ejector has always gone off when basement bath/laundry not in use. (During spring every 3-5 minutes for ejector...8-12 minutes for sump pump).
Guessing ground water gets in there. VERY LOW area behind and next to house.
NOW...Water is now ABOVE the sewage ejector cover (which I had replaced last summer). 1.25-2.5 inches of water per 3 days.
Lifted the small rubber gasket where cords runs into ejector to see how high the water level was. There is about 12" before there is water.
Called plumber. He said it sounds like there is a leak somewhere (tile basin?), as there should not be ground water in the basin....
He didn't say much else.
Who do I call to find the leak??? Sounds very scary to me and $$$.
Single woman trying to understand and decide on doing the right thing to avoid a mess in the near future.
HELP!!!
