I had to solder a 3/4" elbow in very close proximity from a ball-valve. The joints are about 1"-2" away from each other.
------------------
A couple of questions:
Is it bad practice to solder an elbow so close to a valve like that, like in regards to turbulence or quick change of direction or something?
Is it a bad idea that the solder joints are so close together?
What is the best method to solder in such close proximity to other joints?
------------------
As for my elbow, I was able to get it soldered but was having a hard time heating the joint quickly because I wrapped the valve with a damp rag. The solder was caking up until it finally took.
I did get it soldered and there are no leaks visible after a day but its not as pretty as I would have liked.
