Hi all,
I am new to this forum, well new to all of this in general. so we had a very awkwardly layed out 1.5 bath that we hired a "contractor" to remodel in to 2 full baths. long story short its a disaster and we fired him. Now biggest problem is the plumbing... Both bathroom sinks have hot and cold water, toilets work, existing shower/tub has both hot and cold water. However, the new shower/tub not only is the "hot and cold" reversed from what the faucet shows, but when lever is all the way to the right(cold side) it is very hot, and when lever is all the way to the left (hot side) water is more than luke warm but clearly not as hot as when to the right but NO cold water... Any ideas suggestions? Is this something we can fix or will we need a plumber? New shower is a pre fab DELTA fiberglass if that makes a difference along with faucet and shower head.

It depends on the brand of faucet, but probably all that needs to happen is pull the cartridge, rotate it 180 degrees and reinstall. The high limit disk may need to be adjusted at the same time.

its delta brand, I took off the handle and back plate ( idk if those are the correct terms) and it looks like the handle is just not turning all the way to the left, is this an easy fix?

Can you post a picture of the control valve with the handle and trim plate removed?

I would say yes, its an easy fix. The limiting disk is preventing the handle from turning all the way to the left.

The handle and back plate are just a start. You have to remove the operating mechanism/core and reverse it. Easy job for a plumber, not so sure about for you.

OK so I was searching thru old forums , then went to you tube to see exactly what you all were talking about lol, and I did it! however it took me about 3 hours to figure it out between forgetting to turn the water off and flooding my bathroom 3x! but I did it thanks everyone! and my husband will never know the struggle! I feel so accomplished

Try taking a Delta valve apart at 3:00 a.m. without turning the water off when there is no shutoff for the building and there are about 50 widely separated water meters in the area with no identification as to which buildings they were for. I took me about an hour to get the water shut off, while the apartment owner who did it kept bailing water out of the tub.
