4" Centerset Faucets

Seems many of today's bath vanity tops are pre-drilled for 4" centerset faucets.

Personally I hate 4" centerset faucets. I prefer 8" wide spread or single hole faucets. However with so many vanities come with 4" holes I am limited in my choices.

I know you can probably get a cover plate to cover them and use a single hole, but that looks iffy. May be better to get blank covers to just cover those holes? I don't think a soap dispenser or whatever would fit underneath when it's only 2" away, right?

By the way, I have a Rohl faucet model A1467 APC.

Problem is this faucet does not have a pop up drain. I know with vessel sinks you can get an umbrella drain that pushes up and down, but with a conventional sink are there any kind of umbrella drain or lift n turn that would be good to use?

Author: hj (AZ) You can get "push/pull" drains with an overflow opening for use with conventional sinks. you are looking at "builder" grade tops and those have 4" centers because they are the cheapest faucets.
