I have an outdoor frost free faucet installed circa 1979. It has either SP or SH stamped on side. It has a 2 on base. Can anyone identify this for me to get replacement parts. It is in a brick wall and thus not accessible easily.

if installed properly the entire faucet 'should' unscrew

Clearly not installed correctly. So, any idea as to identification?

A picture would help greatly. Put a pressure gauge on it, open the faucet and shut off the house water. If the pressure drops rapidly, the faucet has ruptured inside the wall and you will have to replace the whole thing anyway. Good luck.

Rarely do I find one "properly installed" 9 times out of 10 it's direct soldered and the only access is thru a blind wall or crawlspace from Hades. ;o

probably threaded
turn off water to house
use OOOOMPH to unscrew faucet
if it unscrews - good to go
if not - you would have to open the wall to replace and do it right anyway
do it right = threaded connection with or without a nipple
