 toilet leakinf to the basement
Author: edyopa (Non-US)

Hi, my toilet was plugged and the water was leaking to the toilet and overflowed, The water leaked to the basement. I know there was water in insulation that goes around some pipe and dripped on the floor. I wiped the floor and poked some holes in the plastic that goes around insulation that was around the pipe so the water could drain faster. I noticed the particle board on the ceiling is wet in some places. I was wondering what else I can do and if I should be concerned about getting black mold

if you have a portable dehumidifier, run it in that area.

A few fans pointed at the wet areas will help also, along with the dehumidifier.

Ditto with Packy and M & M.. also get a can of Lysol spray and saturate the affected areas. Would not hurt to use a clamp on service light with an old school light bulb; don't burn down the house! undecided

Mold LOVES damp, dark, and calm space and hates Lysol.
