 rv plumbing connection
Author: skorpidzo (OR)

Hi, I have an early 90s rv with pb plumbing. I have a leaky fitting that fits over a copper 90 elbow which connects to the toilet. The connector is some kind of plastic which is cracked. What is the easiest way to replace this connection. Note: the plastic female connector fits around the copper 90 which is crimped to the 5/8 OD poly butylene pipe. thanks

I, like m & m view Sharkbite fitting as one way to go or you can use Qest fittings which are the " original " fittings that many used "in the good old days" to fix p.b. when polybutylene was actively being installed.

I've used a lot of the Qest fittings and like them for polybutylene:

A picture would be helpful, because I cannot visualize a fitting that fits OVER a copper 90.

will sharkbites hold up given the vibration of over the road usage?

packy, I don't know if sharkbite fittings can however speaking from experience can tell you that Qest fittings will.
