Hello all! I'm new to the forum, and did a little searching but my brain is in DIY mode right now. First a picture of my problem:
[i78.photobucket.com]
I think but I'm not sure that is the 1600 series of the Delta. The model is not being made any longer but I also found this site in my search:
So I have a couple of questions that I hope you can help me with.
1) Do I have to purchase a new manifold (I think that's where the water lines connect) to put in a new Delta system?
2) If I change from the brand Delta to a different brand do I have to change the manifold or can I just the guts?
After watching some video's on changing out the system manifold, I do not have the tools to soldier and would have to hire a plumber to do the work.
Many thanks for any helpful information you can give me.

All you need is a push button diverter , part # RP5649, available at any plumbing supply or home improvement store.

All of the parts you need to make the faucet look, and work, like new are available at most "big box", and many hardware stores.

North Carolina Plumber and hj, thanks for the reply. Changing a shower diverter sounds easy. The guy in the plumbing department of Home Depot told me all kinds of crazy stuff, like demo out the wall, etc. etc.
Glad I found this site to answer any questions I might have.
A big THANK YOU to both!
