Hello,
I am trying to replace an old faucet in my kitchen, and I am having trouble taking off the old nuts from the old sink.
I'm referring to the large, plastic nuts attached to the underside of the counter for the hot, cold, and sprayer connections. I tried to undue them with a basin wrench but I ended up snapping the plastic finger grips on the nut. Now there is nothing to grab onto to turn the nut from the bolt.
If the nuts were metal I doubt I would be having a problem, but the plastic snapped off very easily and I don't know how to get them off.
Any help on this would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Aaron

use a flat head screwdriver and a hammer to split them. ( a sharp chisel would work too)

Heat a screwdrive blade red hot and "melt" a groove on both sides, then pop the two halves off.
