My condo's kitchen plumbing looks fine but for some reason, I get sewer stink coming up through the drain now and again. I see the trap, which should allivate any gasses from coming back up but that doesn't seem to work sometimes. It's been going on intermittently for a long time. It often occurs when the disposal side of the sink is filled with water then I pull the stopper to drain it and wham, stench coming up the other side. Any idea why this happens and how I can fix it? Thank you.

other than a couple of minor leaks in the drain, everything looks perfectly normal to me.
what you might do, is remove all the slip joint piping from the top of the trap to the basket strainer and to the disposer elbow. clean it all in a bucket of warm soapy water and re-install.
while it is open, stick something into the trap and swirl the water around to scour it as well.

Ok thanks. I thought it looked normal but man I wish I knew why that smell comes up. It can be very strong. Knock you back strong. I'll disconnect and clean and see what I find.

if the water stays in the trap and is not being syphoned out, there is no way you can get a sewer smell into the house.
just make sure everything is clean and that includes the trap.
if you still have the smell, post back and someone will help.
