Portable Dishwasher makes faucet not work
Author: carol0922 (OH)

Hi everyone:

This is my problem: I own a Maytag Portable Dishwasher. It's worked really well for the past six years or so, but recently, this is what happens:

I get my water hot from the sink faucet, then shut it off. Then, I hook up my hose with unicoupler to the faucet head. I then turn the water on, and push the red button on the side to make sure the water is on. It's not, though I've turned the water on again via the sink faucet. When I disconnect the unicoupler from the faucet, the faucet ends up not running any water for about ten minutes (I turn off the faucet before I unhook the unicoupler, and when I go to turn it back on, no water is coming out.).

Anyone know what is causing this?

Thanks,
Carol

soft rubber washers can swell up and restrict the flow of hot water. the heat expands them and when they cool they shrink back to original size . but, i have never seen one swell so much that it stops the flow entirely.

Do you have a two handle faucet with spout and sprayer or a single handle mixer?
Best Wishes

I have a sprayer, but I don't use it, and it's not hooked up. I have the basic kitchen faucet set up. Hot and cold on each side, with faucet hanging over two sink tubs.
