My toilet was leaking at the bottom by the floor so I figured the wax seal was bad. So I replaced it. After I replaced it the first time I flushed it it ran over and will not drain. I've tried to plunge it. Nothing. It had no problem flushing before. Ever. The bathtub beside it drains pretty slow sometimes. Any suggestions?

so the toilet drained before but leaked so replaced the wax seal and now the toilet does not drain but neither does it leak. is that correct?

Yes. It just leaked before. After I replaced the wax seal and hooked it up and flushed it. It backed up. But I didn't see it leak. But there was also a little bit of water where it ran over so I could be wrong.

the only thing that makes sense to me is that you got the wax ring over the toilet bowl horn.
did you use one of those wax rings with the plastic extension in it?
at this point all i can suggest is to reset the toilet using a plain old wax ring without the plastic extension. i put the ring onto the bowl just to make sure it is on correctly. some here put the ring ontop of the flange but i don't trust that method.
lastly, while the toilet is off, dump a bundh of water down the drain just to make sure it is clear..

The sewer is obstructed. When the seal was leaking, the trapped air could escape, but now that you have "sealed" the leak, you effectively have a "double trap" which is why it will not flush now.

Personally, HJ and I think you have an elephant in your waste line, beyond your toilet. Its very quiet, but obvious.
Time for a licensed professional.... a plumber.
Best Wishes
